| I know some of you may have paypal accounts whether to buy things online, sell things, or accept commissions through paypal. I just wanted to warn you about fake e-mails that usually get sent to junk mail folder anyway pretending to be from Paypal. The title will probably say "Your account has been temporarily frozen". Below is a sample of the e-mail message. What they try to do is trick you into clicking the link and submitting your login and password information so they can gain access to your account. Many of you probably know better than to click on it as Paypal will never e-mail you in this type of manner asking you to go to some link. Another clue is to look at the "From" e-mail address and it will usually be some odd e-mail address. If you ever want to doublecheck that your Paypal is ok, always go to the official paypal.com website and log in from there. Below is the e-mail message that will be from the phishing paypal e-mail. "This is an automatic message by the system to let you know that you have to confirm your account information within 48 hours. Your account has been frozen temporarily in order to protect it. The account will continue to be frozen until it is approved And Validate Your Account Information. Once you have updated your account records, your information will be confirmed and your account will start to work as normal once again. This will help protect you in the future. The process does not take more than 3 minutes. To proceed to confirm your account information please click on the link below and follow the instructions that will be required. " |
